About Us

One Year No Beer is a preventative health company helping people have a better relationship with alcohol with an approach based on positive psychology and the latest behavioural science. We are looking for a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer to come in and lead the charge in the development, direction, and execution of the organisation’s marketing initiatives. And to lead us to our goal of 100 new high-ticket clients per month. We’re a dynamic start-up at a scaling-up stage, looking for great talent to help us make an extraordinary impact on people’s lives!

Position Overview

In this role, you will be in charge of:

  • Getting 100’s of qualified prospects on the phone with our sales team.
  • Building out and optimising a simple yet robust marketing system.
  • Hiring, overseeing and empowering the best group of marketers you've ever seen. You’ll have an existing team to work with and be hiring additional talent to support the goals.
  • Turn our company into a household name.
  • Drastically accelerate our pace to mission by breaking every sales goal you set.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for leading the growth of our company. There are several aspects to that, but the most important is lead generation for our sales team. Meaning, your more immediate item is booking 150+ qualified appointments for our sales team each week via email marketing and paid ads.

You'll have 3 core areas and own 1 primary number. The core areas you'll be focused on are below and in priority order:

Core Area #1. Marketing Strategy

  • Outcome: You lead the marketing strategy for the company, always looking for large changes and small tweaks to improve things. Total marketing geek. (25% of your time)

Core Area #2: Marketing Operations

  • Outcome: You are a hardcore operator at heart who loves being in the weeds, writing marketing copy, crafting campaigns, and tracking and learning from the data so your team can make adjustments along the way. You don't get in your team's way, you empower them. But you love working side by side with them (50% of your time).

Core Area #3. Building The Marketing Team

  • Outcome: Your team is close-knit, enthusiastic, and has momentum and maniacal focus around the marketing department’s goals. And those goals are clearly and simply aligned to the company's overall mission and targets. Being an A player you bring A players with you. (25% of your time)

Your #1 goal is to reduce the Cost Per Booked Call

Your north star and primary measure of success in this role is reducing cost per booked call. 

And your 2 primary KPIs will be:

  • Cost per booked call under £300 from ads under £200 overall 
  • <£2500 cost to acquire a client

Responsibilities

  • Lead team members in the execution of direct response marketing and branding initiatives across earned, owned and paid media. , email, text, community and social media platforms. The team includes paid media, social media assistant, copywriter and email marketing. 
  • Develop and implement innovative product launch strategies at scale based on market research and internal data analysis.
  • Consistently reviewing reporting of:some text
    • Cost per lead
    • Cost per booked call
    • Cost per customer
    • ROI & ROAS
    • LTV
  • Quality of leads as a fit for potential paying customer
  • Drive advertising strategy based on the daily review of marketing cost and revenue metrics; work with the team to optimise the performance of ad creative, copy, funnels, email campaigns and all related assets.
  • Constantly be testing, funnels, webinars, VSL’s, landing pages, optin’s - these tools and split testing are your bread and butter.
  • Lead weekly growth team meetings. Cadence adjustable to your preference.
  • Meet 1-on-1 bi-weekly with each marketing team member to discuss their obstacles, offer guidance and mentorship and give praise where deserved. Cadence adjustable to your preference.
  • Produce pieces of marketing content including emails, texts, advertising copy, sales pages, social media assets, affiliate marketing assets and various other creative assets, all the while developing the company’s brand voice and generating revenue. You will work alongside copywriters and need to be able to review and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with media buyers, graphic designers, video editors and web builders to strategise and create winning pages, ads, email graphics and social media assets.
  • Coordinate with any media buying agency, SEO company and other stakeholders who assist our team in generating revenue and developing a larger brand presence.
  • Podcast guest outreach and growth planning.
  • Maximise speaking events and opportunities to position potential audiences towards becoming future clients. 
  • Promote conversations about changes that need to be made, tracking, updates, shifts in market trends/ techniques, etc.
  • Ensure we have a consistent brand across all marketing efforts.
  • Directly responsible for the development of marketing strategies for all launches, flash sales, and other revenue-generating events including:
    • Timeline for launches and creation of launch calendar
    • Cohesive Launch and sales support across all marketing channels (emails, website, social media, advertising, podcast, etc)
    • Review tracking and reporting for the source of all leads and evaluate effectiveness, recommending changes in budget, platform, or messaging if needed.
  • Collaborate with the Program team on program content, bonuses, and marketing content needs. Lead them from idea to execution.
  • Constantly learn from and look ahead to future marketing initiatives, respond to technology and market advancements, prep the company to respond to market shifts and changes.
  • Meets regularly (in person) with the CEO to plan and develop forward-looking marketing initiatives (with some travel required).

Who You’ll Work With

This is a possibly fractional for the right individual, most likely full-time role that reports directly to our CEO. You’ll work cross functionally with our teams in Marketing, Sales and Product while leading the marketing team of media buyers, copy writers, social media assistance and email marketing.

Where You’ll Work

We are looking for someone that is outcome-based and data-driven, who also has dreams of long term growth with OYNB. This can be a remote position as the team is remote, however bonus points if you are within reach of London as we start to build out our London based team.

This position will also require flexibility including working some occasional evenings and weekends. We run some live events per year that may require your in-person assistance.

  • We have clear marketing plans, systems, processes and KPIs that are being followed.
  • We have a clear understanding of how each marketing campaign is working, its results, and how well it is being optimised.
  • All marketing campaigns and initiatives are proactive (rather than reactive).
  • We respond in real time to how marketing initiatives are playing out to ensure our goals are met.
  • Our marketing is creative and fun, our team has fun executing it and clients are educated and entertained by it.
  • Market trends are constantly being reviewed and reported on so we can ensure we are always putting out the most effective marketing efforts.
  • Revenue goals and targets are reviewed, reported on, and met on a consistent basis.
  • We have clear and consistent communication with our team.

Requirements

  • You have 3+ years experiencing scheduling 150+ appointments per week for a phone sales team via email marketing and paid ads.
  • You have 3+ years leading a direct response marketing team.
  • You have 3+ years directly owning the revenue, leading KPIs and key marketing and revenue targets.
  • You eat, breathe and sleep direct response marketing.
  • You have directly owned filling calendars for a phone sales team.
  • You are a high-bandwidth person capable of handling a dozen projects at a time while prioritising and executing on the most important ones.
  • You are really good with people and are energised by being around them.
