About the Role

We are bringing on our first full-time software engineer into the organization, and are looking for an experienced engineering leader to run technical interviews with our candidates and provide feedback.

We expect this engagement to last just a couple of weeks, until we make our full-time hire.

For this role, you would:

• Meet with us over Zoom to better understand the technical skills we are looking for in the candidate we hire
• Run up to 5 technical interviews with candidates in our pipeline over Zoom
• Provide us with feedback on each interview you do

We are looking for an engineering expert that can properly determine if the candidates we're interviewing have the right technical skills that we need. Because this is our first engineering hire, we don't have the skills within the organization to evaluate their technical acumen,  so that's where you would come in!

You do not need to source candidates for us. We'll be responsible for running the rest of the interview process.

We are looking for you to evaluate the following technical skills for our candidates:

• Advanced SQL experience - The candidate needs to manage and improve our SQL database infrastructure
• Strong Python experience - The candidate will be managing, and writing new python scripts that are used internally for a host of data manipulation and retrieval needs
• Javascript experience is a plus - we have some small internal web-apps that we'd like to be able to improve
• XML experience is a plus - we leverage several XML feeds for data from certain external parties
• Strong VBA experience - you may or may not be able to evaluate for this skill, but if you can, that would be fantastic, since it's an important part of the full-time role

• You've interviewed countless engineers in the past and been responsible for making engineering hiring decisions
• Are strong in each of the technical skills above, and able to assess the strength of others
• Are available to start with us immediately
• Experience in the finance industry is a plus
