About the Work

Our approach to analytics so far has been reactive, not proactive. We're looking for a Product-focused Data Analytics Lead to own our data strategy going forward, helping us build a better product and make more informed business decisions.

Specifically, you'll:

• Define the success criteria for our new product/feature launches, define the data structure you need to measure, and then own the analysis post-launch
• Better understand our most active users and our churned users
  • What attributes lead to our most active users? How can we predict / model that other users will be similarly active?
  • How might we improve the product to reduce churn? Could we have avoided acquiring these users in the first place?
• Handle data pull requests quickly that come from the founders, the Eng team, Marketing, etc.
• Create and run A/B experiments, and come up with new growth ideas
• Better analyze our performance marketing funnel alongside our Marketing Lead
• Work with our Finance team to understand how retention improvements impact our revenue targets

Our data stack:

• Looker on top of a Postgres DB
• Mixpanel

We expect this role to need about 10 - 15 hrs / week of work. If the relationship is going well and the scope of work increases, we'd be open to converting this role into a full-time one too.

About You

You should meet all the following criteria:

• 6+ years Data Analytics experience with a Product focus
  • You should be comfortable owning and defining an entire analytics strategy
• Significant B2C experience, preferably within spaces like sports, gambling, eSports, gaming, etc.
  • If your focus is on B2B Product Analytics, this won't be a fit
• You know Looker and Mixpanel like the back of your hand
  • If you don't have meaningful Looker and Mixpanel experience, this won't be a fit
• Comfortable working with and presenting your work directly to the founders
