Role Description

We are looking for a leader who can bring the technology vision to the companies engineering and development team. This is a part time contract role for a Fractional CTO at RealMeta. This role will evolve into a full time permanent role as the company scales. As the Fractional CTO, you will be responsible for overseeing software development, project management, IT strategy, architecture, and product development. Your role will involve leading technology initiatives, managing projects, and driving innovation in digital experiences for museums. As an experienced Full Stack Developer with a strong background in building Progressive Web Applications (PWAs) using modern web technologies, you are passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex problems and create innovative digital solutions.

Technical Skills

Web Development: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React.js, Angular, Vue.js

PWA Technologies: Service Workers, Web App Manifest, IndexedDB, Web Push Notifications

Backend Development: Node.js, Express.js, Python (Flask/Django), RESTful APIs, GraphQL

Machine Learning: TensorFlow.js, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Computer Vision, Object Detection

Database Management: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebase, NoSQL

DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), AWS, GCP

Tools & Version Control: Git, Webpack, Babel, NPM/Yarn, JIRA, Trello

Testing: Jest, Mocha, Cypress, Selenium, Lighthouse

Qualifications

• Software Development, IT Strategy, and Architecture skills
• Project Management and Product Development experience
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in the cultural or tech industry is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• You have led the development of a PWA for, improving accessibility and performance, resulting in an increase in user engagement.
• You are adept at creating responsive, high-performance web applications that deliver seamless user experiences across devices.
• You have Integrated TensorFlow.js to implement real-time object recognition, allowing users to interact with digital overlays triggered by recognized objects.
• You have optimized service worker caching strategies, significantly reducing load times and enabling offline functionality for key features.
• You have collaborated with UX/UI designers to create a responsive design that adapts seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices.
• You have Managed backend services using Node.js and MongoDB, ensuring scalable and secure data handling for over at least 100,000 active users.
• You have developed a machine learning-driven feature for a web application that provided personalized content recommendations based on user behavior.
• Implemented WebAssembly to improve the performance of complex computational tasks in the browser, significantly reducing processing time.
• Conducted A/B testing and used analytics tools to refine user interactions, leading to a measurable improvement in conversion rates.
• Automated deployment pipelines using Docker and Jenkins, ensuring smooth and error-free production releases.
• Participated in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and promoting best practices in code quality and testing.
• You have integrated machine learning models within unity spaces to recognize objects within those spaces.
• Effectively managed a remote team using an efficient project management tool.
• Effectively manages daily, weekly and monthly reporting of the development team for SR&ED monitoring.
• Worked closely with the CEO and COO to ensure a collaborative sync across the organization.
