About Us
Lyft is an American company offering ride-hailing services, motorized scooters, bicycle-sharing systems, and rental cars in the United States and select cities in Canada.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a contractor to support Lyft Urban Systems, working on innovative micromobility solutions that riders love, cities need, and operators value. We own and/or operate bike share across the US (in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago to name a few), and our full-system software and hardware is used in over 45 other global markets, including London, Mexico City, and Montreal. Your work will center around loyalty and growth products and will require a strong cross-functional orientation. This contract will run through June 30, 2025.
Here’s what you’ll do
- Solve problems with human-centered design thinking, while communicating solutions with language and storytelling
- Translate complicated concepts into clear, concise in-product copy with empathy and creativity
- Navigate ambiguity; not all projects will be clearly defined and it will be up to you to make sense of what’s unsaid
- Collaborate closely with designers, researchers, engineers, marketers, data science, product managers, and other stakeholders across tech and ops
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities, making sure stakeholders are well-informed
- Champion the Lyft brand voice and style
Your skills may include
- 3+ years of content design related experience, and exceptional writing abilities
- A thorough understanding of UX principles, microcopy, and content design principles
- Product thinking across businesses, with experience or interest in designing for loyalty and/or micromobility.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A systems mind that considers not just copy, but the end-to-end user experience
- Ability to understand and discuss strategy, metrics, and results
- High degree of comfort with ambiguity and change
- Experience with design tools (e.g. Figma)
- Knowledge of accessibility and ESL best practices
- A collaborative, proactive, growth mindset
All that said, even if you don't have all of the skills above, consider applying. Talent takes many different shapes.
Application expectations
- Please be sure your resume includes access to a portfolio of your work—plus a password if necessary. Applications without portfolios will be immediately disqualified.
- We'll start to review applicants one week from posting (January 6th) and on a rolling basis after that.
