Position Overview
We’re seeking a highly experienced Part-Time CFO to strategically guide our financial operations and support our growth. Working closely with our Finance Lead, Maria Ramirez, you'll bring your expertise to strengthen our financial health, ensure compliance, and provide insights to drive sustainable success. Your role will involve attending formal board meetings, contributing to strategic reporting, and being a vital financial advisor.
Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and refine financial models, forecasts, and strategic plans to align with our growth objectives.
- Board Engagement: Participate in board meetings and provide comprehensive financial updates, insights, and recommendations.
- Budget Management: Oversee budget creation, monitoring, and adjustments to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- International Market Experience: Leverage your knowledge of international markets, particularly Spain, to advise on strategic opportunities and risk management.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, adherence to regulations, and best-in-class governance.
- Cash Flow Management: Optimize our cash flow and working capital to support operational needs and future investments.
- Mentorship: Collaborate with and mentor our internal finance team, adding value through your expertise.
Requirements
- Extensive Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Part-Time Commitment: Ability to dedicate consistent hours per week, with flexibility for high-priority periods and critical meetings.
- Board-Level Communication: Excellent skills in presenting financial information and strategic insights to boards and investors.
- International Market Acumen: Strong understanding of international financial operations, especially in Spain.
- Portuguese Base: Based in Portugal and able to work in a hybrid model, attending necessary in-person meetings as required.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English, with knowledge of Spanish being a strong advantage.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with SaaS platforms or companies serving the hospitality sector.
- Familiarity with financial software and tools for automation and efficiency.
- Experience at a consultancy or audit company: Background at a firm such as a Big Four (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG) is highly valued.
