As we continue to scale, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Fractional Chief Financial Officer to join our team and help guide our financial strategy, planning, and execution.
Job Summary
The Fractional Chief Financial Officer will serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team, bringing high-level financial expertise to help shape the company’s future growth and financial health. This individual will oversee all financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management, while also providing actionable insights to improve profitability and cash flow. As a part-time or contract-based role, the Fractional CFO will work flexibly based on the company’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s short-term and long-term business goals.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead the budgeting process and provide accurate financial forecasting, advising on potential risks and growth opportunities.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and optimize cash flow to ensure the company’s liquidity, operational efficiency, and growth.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Provide insights to the executive team on key financial metrics.
- Investment & Growth Planning: Advise on investment strategies, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and other growth initiatives.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company remains compliant with financial regulations and industry best practices.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial performance, challenges, and opportunities to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and the board.
- Business Modeling: Provide data-driven insights and business models to support decisions related to scaling, new market entry, and product development.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems, reporting, and controls to drive operational efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and other teams to ensure financial strategies align with the overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within startups or high-growth companies.
- Proven track record as a CFO or Fractional CFO, with strong experience in financial planning, capital raising, and investment strategies.
- Experience in lending, real estate, or financial services industries is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred.
- Exceptional financial acumen with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, and risk management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in scaling companies or leading through periods of rapid growth.
- A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to foresee challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
