About the Role

Huha is a rapidly growing eCommerce brand seeking leadership support in marketing during a pivotal phase of growth. We are looking for a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for a 4-6 month contract to provide expert guidance as we scale our marketing function.

The fractional CMO will report to VP of Business Operations, Jona Dervishaj, and closely collaborate with the Founder & CEO, Alexa Suter and Marketing Manager, Courtney Hutchinson. We are seeking proposals from experienced fractional CMOs with a proven track record in growing D2C eCommerce brands. Experience in the fashion or women’s apparel industry is highly preferred.

The Opportunity

  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive marketing strategies tailored to the brand's goals, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, including geographical market expansions.
  • Brand Management: Enhance brand identity and oversee brand changes as new identity roles out, across all channels, ensuring alignment and brand cohesion.
  • Digital Marketing Optimization: Oversee and refine digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, social media, email campaigns, and paid advertising, to increase both new and returning customers.
  • Customer Engagement: Develop strategies to improve customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty, fostering a strong connection between the brand and its customers. Oversee the launch and initial stages of Huha’s loyalty and referral program.
  • Customer Retention: Improve Huha’s customer LTV by diving into data insights and proposing effective retention strategies.
  • Building the Marketing Department: Mentor the marketing team, ensuring effective execution of marketing plans and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Identify goals and key hires for building out the marketing team.
  • KPIs and Process: Identify key metrics to maintain a sustainable business in the short and long-term, and kick off process improvements to create efficiencies and structure in the marketing department, as well as cross-departmental processes with the marketing team.

What You Bring to the Table

  • You have 3+ years experience working as either a fractional or full time CMO.
  • You have a background in direct to consumer eCommerce brands.
  • You can paint a picture of marketing improvements needed, by looking at key metrics like MER, aMER, Retention Rate, Sales Data and so on.
  • You have a gut feel for brand creatives and storytelling, which allows you to make suggestions on small changes that can lead to big improvements.
  • You have a good grasp of how SMS, Email Marketing, Paid Ads, Organic Social Media, and SEO all comes together to create various touchpoints throughout the customer journey.
  • You are confident on platforms like Shopify, Lifetimely, Wicked Reports, Klaviyo, Rebuy, Yotpo, Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics and other common eCommerce apps and plugins.
  • You have successfully built and scaled a high-performing marketing team.

Location

  • This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, Canada, and will require travel to our office.
  • At this time, we are only considering candidates based in the Vancouver area for this role. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to explore other opportunities with us in the future if you're located outside of this area.
