Lyft is an American company offering ride-hailing services, motorized scooters, bicycle-sharing systems, and rental cars in the United States and select cities in Canada.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a contractor to support our Driver team. This is a team committed to building an outstanding experience for Lyft Drivers that helps them make a living, support their families, and pursue their passion. Your work will be diverse, including potentially supporting work around autonomous vehicles, onboarding, and features such as Women+ Connect. The length of this contract is through June 30th 2025.
Responsibilities
- Solve problems with human-centered design thinking, while communicating solutions with language and storytelling
- Maintain existing partnership projects and develop new ones with an eye towards growth
- Translate complicated concepts into clear, concise in-product copy with empathy and creativity
- Navigate ambiguity; not all projects will be clearly defined and it will be up to you to make sense of what’s unsaid
- Collaborate closely with product designers, researchers, engineers, marketers, data science, product managers, and other stakeholders across tech and ops
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities, making sure stakeholders are well-informed
- Champion the Lyft brand voice and style
Qualifications
- 5+ years of content design related experience, and exceptional writing abilities
- A thorough understanding of UX principles, microcopy, and content design principles
- An ability to quickly to come up to speed on complex products; this will be a skill inherent to the success of this role
- Product thinking across businesses, with experience or interest in designing for partnership or cross-brand environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A systems mind that considers not just copy, but the end-to-end user experience
- Ability to understand and discuss strategy, metrics, and results
- High degree of comfort with ambiguity and change
- Experience with design tools (e.g. Figma)
- Knowledge of accessibility and ESL best practices
- A collaborative, proactive, growth mindset
