We empower users to unlock unprecedented levels of productivity and innovation by simplifying the deployment of multi-agent teams. These digital workers, capable of executing complex tasks independently, are at the heart of our vision to make AI accessible and valuable to everyone, regardless of technical expertise. While our core focus is on AI autonomy, data security is intrinsic to our platform's integrity and user trust—deeply embedded in our DNA.
Role Overview
The Head of Data Security will be a key player in safeguarding the OpenServ platform, ensuring that our users' trust is well-placed by establishing and managing our data security infrastructure. This role requires a strategic leader who can build and maintain robust security frameworks while aligning closely with Openserv’s mission. Initially offered on a fractional basis, this position is ideal for an experienced professional who excels in setting up and leading security operations in innovative, fast-moving environments.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a data security strategy that complements OpenServ’s vision of enabling accessible AI, ensuring security is a foundational element that enhances, rather than hinders, our platform's user experience.
- Collaborate with the executive team to integrate security measures into broader business strategies, ensuring alignment with the platform's goals of accessibility, user empowerment, and developer collaboration.
- Promote a security-conscious culture across the organization, embedding security into the platform’s development and operational processes.
Information Security Management:
- Lead the design and implementation of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) tailored to the unique needs of a platform facilitating multi-agent interoperability, in accordance with ISO 27001 standards.
- Drive the process for obtaining and maintaining security certifications such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and other relevant standards, ensuring that Openserv meets and exceeds industry benchmarks.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures that address the complexities of handling modular, multimodal agent data, while remaining user-centric.
- Regularly review and update security frameworks to adapt to evolving technologies, emerging threats, and the rapid scaling of the platform.
Operational Security:
- Implement security controls that protect data across all phases of agent operations—storage, transmission, and active use—within a diverse and interoperable agent ecosystem.
- Oversee security incident response protocols, ensuring rapid and effective action in case of security breaches or threats, while minimizing disruption to the platform's availability and user operations.
- Work closely with IT, DevOps, and AI development teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle, ensuring secure deployment and management of AI agents.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to proactively identify and mitigate risks specific to AI agent operations.
Quality Management & Compliance:
- Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards, with a focus on maintaining the platform’s integrity and user trust.
- Lead internal and external security audits, collaborating with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
- Foster a continuous improvement mindset, leveraging the latest advancements in cybersecurity to enhance the platform’s resilience against threats.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all data security-related matters within Openserv, engaging with internal teams, developers, and external stakeholders.
- Educate and train staff on data security best practices, ensuring that security is understood and embraced across all levels of the organization.
- Communicate Openserv’s commitment to data security to users, partners, and developers, reinforcing the platform’s trustworthiness and reliability.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in senior data security roles, with a focus on tech-driven, innovative environments, particularly those involving AI or complex data ecosystems.
- Expertise in Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), with hands-on experience in achieving and maintaining ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications.
- Strong knowledge of data protection regulations like GDPR and CCPA, with the ability to apply these in a rapidly evolving tech environment.
- Proven track record in quality management systems, with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security strategies in fast-paced, innovation-driven settings.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable.
- Self-starter having done this before in a startup.
