Position Overview

We are looking for a Fractional CMO with extensive experience in SaaS and, ideally, within the HRtech / edtech sector. This role is critical as we scale our operations and expand into new international markets, with a focus on North America. The successful candidate will lead our existing marketing team and collaborate with freelance specialists in areas such as SEO, copywriting, and more.

This is a remote opportunity, but the ability to work during standard Australian business hours is a requirement. As a result, this role is likely to suit a candidate who can work during the late afternoon and evening Pacific Time.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Work with the Growth team leadership and spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with Facilitate’s growth objectives and international expansion plans.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the existing marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Collaboration with Freelancers: Work with freelance specialists across various domains, including SEO, copywriting, and digital marketing, to enhance our marketing efforts.
  • Market Positioning: Ensure Facilitate’s products are effectively positioned in the market, highlighting our unique value proposition and differentiators.
  • Demand Generation: Oversee lead generation and customer acquisition strategies to drive growth and expand our customer base.
  • Brand Management: Build and maintain a strong, consistent brand image that resonates with our target audience.
  • Data-Driven Marketing: Utilize analytics and data to measure campaign effectiveness, inform decision-making, and optimize marketing strategies.
  • Budget Management: Work with the CEO to manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, product development, and customer support, to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.
  • Scalability and Innovation: Develop scalable marketing initiatives and stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience leading a marketing team in a SaaS technology business. Experience in the HRtech or edtech sector is highly desirable.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, with strong mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and analytical thinking capabilities, with a track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
  • Ambitious and prepared to grow as a professional and leader as our business grows internationally.
  • Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and freelance specialists.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Remote Work: Ability to work remotely and be available during standard Australian business hours.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Startup experience: Experience in early-stage companies/startups is highly regarded. We are looking for someone who can develop a practical and realistic strategy that can be executed with a small team.
  • Hubspot: Experience with Hubspot or the ability to master this software at speed is an absolute must.
