About Me
I'm a multi-disciplinary creative who enters deep flow states when working. I move quickly between photography/video production, music composition, and workshop facilitation. My businesses grew organically without formal structure, and I recognize I need a strategic partner with a completely different skill set from my own to solve the bottlenecks where I am currently the single point of failure.
The Challenge
I run three concurrent creative ventures as a photographer, filmmaker, composer, and workshop facilitator. Despite measurable success across these domains, my improvisational creative approach means I need a counterbalancing force to create structure, systems, and forward momentum. I need someone who thrives on bringing order to creative chaos and can maintain that order even when I unconsciously resist it.
The Role (Structure Creator)
This position is for someone who finds satisfaction in creating systems that actually work. You will be the structural counterpart to my creative flow - not mirroring my improvisational style but complementing it with deliberate, consistent organization.
Your core mission will be solving ONE bottleneck at a time, following through to complete implementation before moving to the next challenge. This methodical, incremental approach is essential to success in this role.
Must-Have Traits (Non-Negotiable)
- Methodical persistence - You complete one system before starting another
- Boundary-setting abilities - You're comfortable firmly but respectfully redirecting focus
- Follow-through DNA - You're unsatisfied until implementation is complete
- Structural thinking - You naturally create frameworks where none exist
- Assertive communication - You can push back when necessary while maintaining rapport
- Previous success with creative professionals - You understand the unique challenges
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain time-blocking systems with minimal input required from me
- Implement one complete system at a time, with clear documentation and handoff procedures
- Develop Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) that even a creative can follow
- Systematically research and onboard key vendors across all three business streams
- Design visual project management systems that provide clarity at a glance
- Incorporate AI tools to reduce administrative burden
- Gradually take over operational decision-making to reduce my cognitive load
The Ideal Candidate
- Has demonstrable experience creating structure for creative entrepreneurs
- Possesses a naturally methodical, systematic approach to problem-solving
- Enjoys being the organized counterbalance to creative energy
- Can maintain boundaries while being diplomatic
- Is comfortable providing direct feedback and redirection when necessary
- Has experience with both technical systems and people management
Not A Good Fit If You
- Tend to start multiple projects simultaneously without completing them
- Are primarily consensus-driven or highly agreeable in your approach
- Prefer constant direction rather than taking initiative
- Are uncomfortable providing structure to someone with an improvisational style
- Mirror others' work patterns rather than maintaining your own systematic approach
What You'll Get
- Autonomy to build systems from the ground up
- Exposure to multiple creative industries and high-profile projects
- Performance bonuses tied to specific, measurable system implementations
- The satisfaction of seeing tangible results from creating order from creative chaos
Selection Process
- Initial interview focusing on specific examples of systems you've successfully implemented
- A paid trial project focused on solving ONE specific bottleneck
- References from creative professionals you've previously supported
Start Date: Immediate, beginning with a 2-week paid trial period focused on implementing one specific system to demonstrate compatibility.
Location: Venice, CA (Mix of in-office and remote work, with potential for remote-only for exceptional candidates)
Compensation: $2K-3K/month, 1099 (independent contractor). Opportunity for performance bonuses tied to specific, measurable system implementations
Time Commitment: This is an ongoing contract job with an hourly commitment that falls between part-time and full-time.
