Your Mission

As our Growth Marketing Lead, your mission is to bring the spirit of Punks & Pinstripes to life in ways that are provocative, authentic, and impossible to ignore. You’ll build campaigns that resonate with Business Punks—those leaders on the edge of corporate and entrepreneurial worlds—and create pathways for them to join our movement. The perfect candidate spent time doing something Punk, (e.g. as an activist or promoting a Punk band) and then got a grown-up job marketing a buttoned-up law firm or consulting company. You have the perfect balance of Punk and polish.

Outcomes That Matter Most

  1. Generate Explosive Visibility:
    • Design and launch bold campaigns (guerilla and otherwise) that are provocative, intriguing, and impossible to ignore
    • Use unconventional methods to make Punks & Pinstripes unmissable in NYC.
  2. Attract Qualified Leads:
    • Our goal is to attract 750 applications from qualified Business Punks this year.
    • Speak directly to their pain points, aspirations, and hunger for meaning in ways that inspire them to reach out.
  3. Create a Category:
    • Define and articulate what it means to be a Business Punk.
    • Develop a catalog of content and articles that showcase how Business Punks are different, indispensable, and unstoppable.
    • Create materials (digital content, zines, videos)

Key Competencies

Stuff we already do that needs help:

  • Manage the Newsletter - Our newsletter has about 6000 subscribers. It’s great, but inconsistent.
  • Build our LinkedIn page - The founder’s personal brand (19k followers) has done most of the work. We need to shift to amplifying the Punks & Pinstripes page.
  • Create content from our events - We host dinners, member co-working days, and  Help A Punk mentorship sessions multiple times a month.

Stuff we want to start doing:

  • Guerrilla Campaigns - weird, zany, eye-catching campaigns like Liquid Death, Ilegal Mezcal, or activist campaigns like Occupy Wall Street that generate notoriety.
  • A well-managed content calendar. We produce a lot of content inconsistently. We need someone who can ensure that we’re consistently representing BizPunk to the world.
  • Generating earned media from journalists and influencers.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who’s scrappy, hungry and eager to grow. Attitude trumps aptitude here at Punks & Pinstripes.

  • Rebellious Creativity: You’re an idea machine who can dream up and execute campaigns that surprise, provoke, and inspire.
  • Storytelling Genius:You have the ability to craft narratives in long form, social media content, and in guerrilla campaigns that resonate deeply with Business Punks.
  • Execution Powerhouse: From concept to delivery, you take ownership of every detail to ensure campaigns are impactful and on time.
  • DIY AF: You’re scrappy. We don’t buy visibility. We create content that’s compelling.
  • Connector and Collaborator: You thrive in working across teams and with community members to amplify our mission.
  • Proven experience in guerrilla or experiential marketing, ideally in NYC.
  • Deep understanding of counterculture movements, underground promotion, or activism-inspired strategies.
  • Some experience with marketing at a major corporate brand.

Compensation and Commitment

  • Part-time: 15–20 hours per week.
  • 6-month contract with potential for promotion to founding team.

Interview process

  • 1 interview with CEO (Extra credits: come to the first round with ideas, content calendar, piece of content, guerilla campaigns)
  • 2nd round: Interview with Ops Director and Marketing team.
