Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Part Time DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team and help us design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure and tools that ensure the smooth operation of our SaaS platform. As a DevOps Engineer you will work closely with the engineering, product, and data teams to streamline deployment processes, improve system performance, and ensure high availability, security, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment, testing, and monitoring.
• Manage and scale cloud infrastructure (AWS) to ensure optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Implement and monitor infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure best practices for deployment and infrastructure management.
• Optimize system performance and ensure high availability through automation, monitoring, and logging using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Manage containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and related orchestration tools.
• Monitor and ensure security best practices across the infrastructure (IAM policies, network security, vulnerability assessments).
• Identify bottlenecks in infrastructure and suggest improvements to increase scalability and fault tolerance.
• Troubleshoot system issues, optimize performance, and ensure 24/7 uptime.
• Support disaster recovery and backup planning, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
• Provide ongoing operational support for incidents and critical issues as part of an on-call rotation.
• Performs other related duties.

Requirements‍

• 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in a SaaS or data-driven company.
• Expertise in managing cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Strong scripting skills in shell, python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments (IAM, VPC, VPN, etc.).
• Experience in performance tuning, scaling, and high-availability systems.
• Knowledge of networking, DNS, load balancers, and VPN configurations.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience‍

• Experience with serverless architecture (Lambda, Cloud Functions).
• Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data pipelines.
• Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.).

Education and Experience‍

• BS degree in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience
• 3-5+ years of experience

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
